ROADTEC™ 01 is Metzeler’s leading product in the touring segment, ranging from X-Ply to Radial sizes, with a focus on enhancing grip on wet and low friction surfaces, an increased mileage and a high degree of adaptability to different motorcycles, riding styles and conditions.
FEATURES:
- Enhanced grip on wider range of tarmac/weather conditions thanks to the tread design and unique compounds
- Larger and shorter contact patch and dual compound layout (radial) increase rear tyre mileage
- METZELER patented Interact system working in conjunction with tyre structure to ensure riding stability, comfort and precision
ROADTEC™ 01 is available in popular sizes in both radial and X-ply, along with HWM (Heavy Weight Motorcycle) version for specific motorcycles.

HWM version features increased stability by reducing both in intensity and duration the oscillations happening due to road irregularities or steering maneuvers. Distinguishable thanks to a ‘Weight’ icon next to the product name on the tyre sidewall, the increased stability is reached by employing a 2-ply carcass on HWM rear tyres, where standard rear tyres have only 1 ply.
HWM front tyre version has the same 2-ply construction as the standard version, but benefits from stiffer carcass material and sidewall construction plus a slightly different compound recipe.
